Here at POLLY we LOVE hearing about girls passion for getting involved in the fashion industry.

Whether it is to join a boutique team, be a designer or own your own boutique ... we want to hear about it!

Mostly though ... we want you to GET SERIOUS and make your dreams come alive!

Some tips from us ...

WORKING IN A BOUTIQUE

  • Make connections.  Introduce yourself in person.  Don't just send an email - retail is a people business!
  • Present well.  To inspire people in fashion you have to ... well, inspire people with fashion!  This means dress, hair, make up, shoes, accessories, styling.
  • Build your skill set.  Do what you have to do - study, work experience, whatever!  CONSTANTLY build your skill set in sales, trends, merchandising, business planning.
  • Be determined.  No one got ahead in sales by listening to 'no'.  WHAT do you have to do & WHO do you have to be to get a YES!?

  • Have clear dreams
  • Get creating - you can't sell an idea - you sell a product
  • Have a point of difference to make you special
  • Constantly build connections - fabric suppliers, production teams, marketing peoples
  • Get started - small and consistent is better than nothing!  It's how you build!
