lula = love

lula = love

Things I love are ... pink nail polish, tiny biscuits & tea, wild flowers and LULA.

LULA only comes out every 6 months but the pictures are so pretty that I can keep looking at them for that long.

It's not a magazine that is easy to get a hold of ... in Brisbane I think the only place that stocks them is the agent is The Wintergarden.

But every time ... wowee ... it get's prettier.

This month they were loving polka dots, and over exposed pastel images.  I love they way art is mixed with fashion mixed with lifestyle ... in the most lovely whimsical way.

6 more months until next time ...

it's all white verve

it's all white verve

I spent WAY to much money today so I hope you girlies LOVE this new White Verve collection (due Aug/Sep)!!

We've had a little delivery from White Verve once before but being a new label and testing the market ... they've changed ... and WAY for the better.  It was the most AMAZING showing.

The palette was all about black, charcoals, ballet pink, faded khaki & fuschia.  The feel was glamour street.  The styling was all open shoulders line, tank style dresses, open backs and tiny, tiny, tiny stud detailing.   Making everything very heavy ... but femme, very femme.

Will be sure to get you some pixies as soon as I can otherwise, the lookbook's in store for you if you'd like a lil peeky!

what's your flavour?

what's your flavour?

Fashion is faster than ever.  Seriously, the skates are getting really speedy.

We have just landed the !CUTEST! powder pink mini and a size run of drool worthy ice mint day dresses ...

Candy is a HUGE look for 2010 SS - just hitting the shelves overseas ... but here we have it in Australia for the end of our Summer season!  Confusing really ... all so inside out and back to front.

Anyhow, we are LOVING candy as a fun way to keep colour in your wardrobe as we move towards Autumn.

We can all tap dance about in it now while it's 30c and for the moment, dream about putting it under a stud jacket or back with black and the temp starts to lower.

Hmmm ... my flavour of choice is strawberry ... what about you!?

is online glossie?

is online glossie?

I love having five minutes spare ... it doesn't happen very often but when I do, I love, love, love to sit down with lil latte & glossie combo and dream, dream, dream away.

Have just finished the second half of 'my look book' (on line fashion mag) and am really curious as to what others think of online mags compared to real life fashion editorials?

What are the pros?  What makes them not as strong?  What are your favourites?

wipe out

wipe out

Style stalker obviously got a hold of the latest Vogue before I did ... they've channeled the scuba barbie thing straight into the front of their SS collection.

And it's HOT!

All surfboards, wetsuits and hot pink lipstick ... I've never picked so much from one collection EVER before!

LOVING the pretty blues and aqua marine colours that have been injected into their super reliable silhouettes.

The look books instore if you want a sneak peek but expect lots of hot minis again.  Cut outs in all the right places and some amazing swing dresses just to make your heart beat that little bit faster.

Oh .. and the tights.  They're the best.  All cut out knees.  White bone stitching and lycras that hold those legs in all the right places.

Shot gun the silver sequin shorties ... they were styled in the showing with a powder pink balmainesque blazer and left me with hearts coming out of my eyes.

Style Stalker is also very well known for its LBD collections ... and once again, a phenomena is on order.

Due July/Aug ... I hate this waiting thing.  Am off to put on my patient shoes.

loving mannequin

loving mannequin

You may or may not have seen the Mannequin swim collection this summer at POLLY!  They made the prettiest bikinis and feature full pieces ... and like all fashion goodness ... they flew away quickly!

This designer used to head up the Zimmerman design team.  You can see a definite influence in her new brand (Mannequin) & the fashion/beach feature pieces she creates.

What I love about her cossies are the extra mile features ... pretty beads, extra frills, interesting back lines and amazing lycra quality.

My favourite from the showing was a purple/mauve organic garden print high waist full piece.  ASK in store if you want to see some pix!

And the fashion is so unique.  Designs that speak pure originality.  Some delicious mesh cut out maxis on on their way and a rad rad pussy bow blouse in a red tie dye  ... see it to believe it.

Mannequin ... we love you!

POLLY has been loving Nookie Beach for years now.  It's all so Bondi in design ... perfect cut, original prints & delicious lycra quality.  You can trust your Nookie cossie to last you for many beach & poolside visits.

Side note ... what about you?  I know i'm turning more to a pool than beach girl these days ... ?  I don't like the sand getting on my i-phone.

Anyhow, Nookie Beach has made a wower of a collection this year.  It was really big.

My fave piece was this hot lil 80's colour number.

It was really hard core ... full on fushia bright sparkle number with splashes of green & gold + frills.  The look book styled it back with black denim shorties for summer ... I am planning next years festival outfits already (now that's when you know you have a problem ... ha).

They have also made this hot as black shiny lycra story.  These cossies look like patent leather bodysuits ... perfect fit ones.  All very 'Charlies Angels just hopped out of the water' but better.

+ nautical cossies.

+ lovely organic-ee frill-ee ones

+ pretty open back maxi's

plus, plus, plus ... oh it's hard to keep up!  Hmmm, 7 months to go.

bigger is better!

bigger is better!

Think big black frills tight black tops.

Lampshade skirts.

Bubbled cupcake sleeves.

Layers & layers of amazingness ...

Welcome new season goodies!  Oh how we've been waiting.

You may not have seen them instore, as they have been selling as soon as they land, but we have been getting the cutest black sculptural pieces!  Mainly jackets with amazing, amazing frillness ... but also the odd top with delicious oversized finishes and 2 x lampshade skirt styles.

Yes ladies, think silhouette leading into Winter.  This look is all about black and BIG features to little fashion pieces.

increase your joy

increase your joy

Anyone who shops at the POLLY knows that we don't stock a lot of basics.

Mainly because I think they are a bit boring.  Really, I know it's against the grain but why wear a tee when you can wear a flower dress?

But, with anything, a girl has to have room for allowances ... and here, JOY FRENCH is it.

JOY makes these amazing tees.  How she get's the seams where they sit is a bit beyond me as a buyer.  Tricky inserts, unique hems, cut out features & neck finishes ... I never thought a tee could be so interesting!

And then you touch them ... they are soooooo SOFT!  Joy uses all certified organic fabrics and is all very eco/green girl.  I am a huge believer in organics from a health/food perspective, so it is wonderful to enjoy this feature in fashion.

Her palette is white, black, grey.  Go ahead ... make your choice.

the girls got soles

the girls got soles

Yum yum yummy.  I LOVE shopping for new season shoes.  Seriously, it gives me butterflies.

All great trendites know that shoes finish an outfit so, 'the new shoe' is definately an accessory purchase that demands thought and research.

Really excited for the new SOLES delivery!  After a total hit SS delivery, they have taken a really urban approach for AW10 which is going to work perfectly for us Aussie girls.

Gone are last years riding boots.  Rompers have taken centre stage.  Think black all the way.  8 holes or more is a must.  Flat is the definate choice.  Scruffier is better that shiny.

The pictured style is amazing (although it looks a lil shiny in the pic? more matt in real life) + am loving the desert boot and studded boot. Check their range by clicking at SOLES on http://www.nudefootwear.com.au/

Due Feb.  Far out, I wish it would get colder soon in Aus so that it makes it more practical to actually wear these things when they arrive.

Sheesh.

Will update the FB when delivery is confirmed!

off to the fairground

off to the fairground

It's not often that I say DAMN when we get a delivery.  But I did today when the Fairground was unpacked ... because I couldn't choose which piece to get!!

There are some AWESOME pieces in this collection.  Check the full range at www.welovefairground.com - the photos are a little hard to see and really don't do the pieces much justice so best to see it in person if you can make it in in time.

LOVING the jacket (online in denim) - it has an amazing open cut out at the back.  Really impractical actually but fabulous all the same.

& THE ONESIE - I have never seen the fabric that has  been used on the top half here ... it is a cotton but looks like super really amazing soft leather ... hmmm ... must have been made on another planet.

& THE PERFECT WINTER DRESS.  Everyone knows I am a self confessed dress addict ... so i LOVE when I find a fabulous dress for winter wearing.  3/4 sleeve, amazing front ruffles, neck bow, super soft ... ahh lust.

Get your boots on girls, the sizes are going fast!

away returns!

away returns!

This is the 3rd AWAY delivery that has graced the doors of POLLY ... and we always welcome her with open arms!!

AWAY is a new label designed by local GC girl Rachel Wakefield.  A big player on the GC art scene (photography, vintage clothing, galleries ... ) Rachel is really well connected to all things urban, underground and directional.

Mainly working with a black palette and loose fitting silouettes, AWAY provides perfect choices for the girl looking to update her new season staples.

One of my favourite things about this label is the use of bambo in the fabric.  Making the fabric super soft, long long long wearing and great for the environment and of course ... a perfect reason to purchase.

DUE THIS WEEK! (finally!)
