hello poncho
So, we've been working the blazer for the Autumn season and moving into Winter now ... we're ready for NEWNESS.
Here at POLLY we're going to catch the cape train for Winter. First stop? Ponchoville.
Loving the Mexican influence in this little pretty.
I got these hot as wet look tights in NY - so I'm going to put it back with them.
Happy weekend everyone!

miss unkon SS
Just posted some backstage pics from the Miss Unkon 2010 display at RAFW.
I'm sure all of you have been following closely on various blogs and facebooks and are much more up to date than we are with all that happened in week that's just gone!
I've heard that Romance was Born was again amazing and have seen a few snaps of the Ksubi show (cool!) but of course .... OUR FAVOURITE ... will always be the super pretty creations of Courtney Meyer at Miss Unkon.
Man, this girl has worked so hard over the last 6 months to pull this together but what a beautiful achievement! Do yourself a favour and have a Miss Unkon google - the show was so pretty and creative. Just can't wait for it to land now!
FAVOURITE POLLY PIECE - pink layered cupcake dress!

the 50's silhouette
We just got the cutest 'stepford wives' dress in. Hello 1950.
It's all full flip skirts and knee length hems on the catwalk at the moment ... v.v. 50's. Here at POLLY we'd love to hear your take on it all.
I just had a peep at the LV parade on style.com - they are channelling the 50's in a massive way. Although I'm loving the prim skirts back with the corset suit tops and the kitten heels used in the styling ... I don't know how I feel about the oversize jacket combined with the full skirt - but hey - who am I to challenge Mr. Jacobs.
Anyways, I'm snatching the aqua version in our petal dress. Now ... to find perfect kittens to match.

cherry tom
POLLY has long been a supporter of young independent designers.
The latest to debut on the shelves is CHERRY TOM - a delicious femme label, creating one off pieces from vintage fabrics.
We had a little bit of fun on the weekend and did a shoot with the new arrivals.
Check out our TUMBLR soon for a sneaky peak!

candy shop
Candy colours are always a personal SS colour favourite!
Super soft and super sweet!
Here at POLLY we're very busy with SS showings at the moment. And the candy palette is soooo much fun!
Loving sorbet pinks, lavender and lemon the best - we are choosing the prettiest dresses and camisoles for you!
Secret squirriels ... look forward to a new label called CAMEO that has worked with this influence particularly well.

under water world
This pic is a little sneak peak from the Style Stalker upcoming spring range ...
Clearly, they have totally channeled the scuba/surfer thing into their SS deliveries in a big way ... and we're LOVING it!
VOGUE did a big spread on this influence in the March issue (Abby Lee cover) - how great is it to be seeing it at street level so quickly. I tell you, Australia is getting THAT fast at picking up on overseas trends.
So, although we're just starting AW, fashion world is talking SS and we can expect to be seeing a whole lot of :
Pop fluro accessories
Wetsuit fabrics in dresses
High shine - wet look lycras
Tye die
Our call? Fun, very fun.

NY
There is some really great fares to NY at the moment so POLLY thought she'd skip over and have a perve at the Spring fashions in NY ... all in the name of research of course!!
The shopping is absolutely AMAZING in Manhattan. Literally blow your mind, can't sleep at night, be very, very, very careful of your credit card sort of stuff.
Suburb after suburb, street after street of amazing, decadent, creative, unique, high end, vintage ... fashion, fashion, fashion. And to make it more amazing, it is mixed amongst the coolest art scene in arguably, the world.
Hot boutique, art gallery, pop up shop, street artist, cafe, lifestyle store, graffiti wall, hotel, flower stand ... I came back with the biggest blisters from sooooo much walking.
My favourites were Soho, Nolita, West Village, Meat Packing district, Mid Town, Brooklyn.
If you've never been it's an absolute MUST. Get there girls!
Oh ... and don't get me started on the shoes ... !
brand me baby
We all know the way of the future is down the path of cyber space ... and it's just so much fun to see a label branding themselves well with all the online media under the sun!!
Have you had a look at the Miss Unkon website? www.missunkon.com
We a loving their pretty fashion blog, photo inspirations, film instalations ... and it goes on!
Have you entered the love story competition? hello! You may just sit inbetween the VOGUE & HARPERS girls so they don't scratch each other ... Tix are exclusive to industry insiders so it is an amazing opportunity!

dots for spots
Big, small, pin, mono, multi ... let's not get fussy now.
Polka dots are massive for SS this year, and as usual, are hitting the floor a season early at the Polly.
We're seeing them in dresses, tops, swing shorties and accessories. As long as they are not used in two places in your outfit, we're not fussy where you put them ... just put them on.

slow, the new fast?
Polly pssst ... !
A new slow fashion label is about to hit the shelves - and it's divine.
Cherry Tom - delicious dresses, the prettiest laces, bohemian all over ... and 100% pure vintage + made by the designer.
Loving how Cherry Tom;
* uses fabric from days of old
* uses her own time, not others, to source fabric and make her fashion
* is a north qld girl! Who ever would have thought ... !
* supports slow fashion - all about longevity and sustainability
Due in store any moment!!
